The Lear birds, reimagined as they have flown through a still life of flowers in a vase by Ambrosious Bossheart the elder. The original Lear bird prints where some of the first composition collage images Kristjana created. They were created from drawings by the greatest ornithological artist of his era, Edward Lear.

Edward Lear was an English artist, illustrator, musician, author and poet. He was an incredible spirit and is best known for his popular nonsence collections of poems, songs, short stories, botanical drawings, recipes and alphabets. He was particularly known for his limericks, a form he popularised.  

One of Lear's limericks:

There was an Old Man in a boat, 
Who said, 'I'm afloat, I'm afloat!’ 
When they said, 'No! you ain't!’ He was ready to faint, 
That unhappy Old Man in a boat.
